Health Minister: we need 30,000 doctors and 100,000 nurses for all health facilities

SAADA, Jun. 25 (YPA) – Minister of Public Health and Population Taha Dr. Al Mutawakel said that Yemen needs about 30,000 general practitioners and more than 100,000 nursing staff.

He noted that the staff of doctors does not exceed 2,100  general practitioners (GP)and 18,000 nursing staff.

This came during his inspection of works in the new building of Saada Maternity and Childhood Hospital and the restoration of operating rooms in The Qahzza area of Sihar directorate.

Dr. Yahya Shaym, director of the provincial health office, gave a brief an explanation on progress of the hospital, final finishes in the new building ,  difficulties  facing them and ways to address them.

Al Mutawakel called for completion of works in the hospital urgently because of its importance in providing health services to mother and child.
