COVID-19 death toll exceeds half million in Brazil

SANAA, Jun. 20 (YPA) – Brazil’s death toll of corona virus has exceeded half a million since the emerging of COVID-19 virus, according to data from the country’s Ministry of Health.

Thousands of Brazilians demonstrated across the country on Saturday to protest the way Brazilian President Gayer Bolsonaro responded to the Corona epidemic, accusing him of delaying the purchase of the anti-virus vaccine, Reuters reported.

The Agency stressed that the Brazilian government is facing strong criticism, after wasting previous opportunities to buy anti-retroviral vaccines,

According to Reuters, the pharmaceutical industry Pfizer received no response from the government to sell vaccines, between August and November last year.

According to data from the Brazilian Ministry of Health, only 11% of citizens were fully vaccinated, compared to 29% for a first dose.
