STC calls for lifting combat readiness in southern Yemen

ADEN, Jun. 19 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)  held a military meeting in Aden on Saturday to address what it called “existing risks and challenges.”

The meeting, chaired by Aidaroos Zubeidi, head of the STC stressed the need to raise high combat readiness in all units and camps to counter plots targeting the southern provinces, referring to the movements of Islah militants.

The military meeting described the abduction of a number of leaders of the STC by al-Islah militants as terrorist acts.

The STC vowed to respond to the continuing violations, murders and arbitrary arrests in Shabwah province.

Aidaroos Zubeidi warned against enabling al-Qaeda and ISIS terrorists to take control over Shabwah province.
