ADEN, Jun. 17 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias stormed the camp of the coastal defense in the city of Aden, south of Yemen, according to local sources.
The sources said that military forces led by the commander of the so-called Fifth Brigade in Radfan Mukhtar al-Nubi” and Mohsen Askar”, commander of one of Dhalea military factions, stormed on Wednesday, the camp, located in Gold Moor area of “Al-Tawahi” district.
The sources indicated that the commander, al-Nubi, with his forces withdrew from the camp after mediation led by the security director of Lahj province, Major General “Saleh al-Sayed” and the commander of the Fourth Brigade, Brigadier General Hadar al-Shuhati.
The sources indicated that the camp is affiliated with the military leader “Qasim al-Jawhari al-Yafai,” the commander of the so-called Salman Brigades.
Several activists of the southern provinces warned against dragging Aden province into a regional battle, such as the one that took place in 1986, known as the events of January 13, in which thousands of civilians and military leaders were killed.
