Ahmadinejad accuses Iranian intelligence official of spying for Israel

TEHRAN, Jun. 12 (YPA) – The former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Saturday that the anti-Israel official in the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence was a spy for Israel.

Ahmadinejad added in a video interview that this made Israel succeed in carrying out major espionage operations in Iran, including seizing nuclear and space documents from sensitive centers.

He referred to the details of what he called “Israel’s intensive operation” inside Iran, pointing to the presence of a high-level “security gang” in his country.

“This corrupt security gang has to explain its role in the assassination of nuclear scientists and the bombings in Natanz,” he added.

He also talked about the theft of documents from the Iranian Space Organization, saying: “The documents of the Space Organization were in the safe of the office of the head of this organization. They opened the ceiling and entered and opened the safe and took the documents.”

Ahmadinejad’s comments came two days after former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen spoke about the influence of Israeli intelligence on the Iranian nuclear program.
