Yemeni army repels Saudi-backed militants’ infiltration in Asir

ASIR, June 3 (YPA) – The Yemeni army repelled on Saturday a large infiltration carried out by Saudi-backed militants and Sudanese mercenaries toward Majaza site in Asir region, according to a military source.

The repelling operation resulted in killing several mercenaries, wounding others, and destroying a number of Saudi military vehicles, the source said.

It is the third failed infiltration carried out by Saudi-backed militants toward Majaza site since Thursday.

On Friday, the Saudi army mercenaries also failed for the fifth time over four days to restore Alib crossing in Asir after the Yemeni army seized it.

The Yemeni army has inflicted heavy losses on the Saudi army during the ongoing confrontations in south of the kingdom.

Two Saudi Abrams tanks were destroyed in al-Balbala hill in Jizan region, while another tank was destroyed on Friday in al-Ramdha hill in the same region.
