FM appreciates Iranian position supporting political solution in Yemen

SANAA, Jun. 08 (YPA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hisham Sharaf, reiterated on Tuesday the Salvation Government’s appreciation for Iran’s position supporting a peaceful political solution in Yemen.

This came during his meeting with the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sanaa, Hassan Erlu.

They discussed aspects of bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and touched upon the latest regional and international moves relating to peace and political settlement in Yemen.

Sharaf affirmed the Salvation Government’s readiness to go ahead achieving peace, valuing the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif’s initiative to end the aggression and lift the siege on Yemen.

In turn, the Iranian ambassador confirmed that his country would continue its good efforts to end the aggression and lift the comprehensive siege imposed on the Yemeni people for nearly seven year.
