SANAA, Jun.03 (YPA) – Brazil on Wednesday has witnessed nationwide protests in a number of cities in the country, coinciding with a speech by Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro on the progress of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thousands of people took to the streets of Brazilian cities to express their anger at Bolsonaro’s handling of the Coronavirus crisis, which had been repeatedly reduced at the beginning of the pandemic.
Bolsonaro said in his brief speech that every Brazilian would be able to receive a vaccine against Coronavirus if he wished.
Brazil has the second highest death toll from the virus in the world after the United States with more than 467,000 cases, the third highest number of infections after the United States and India with about 16.7 million cases, and in recent weeks the country has faced sharp rises for both indicators.
