SANAA, June 1 (YPA) – Six railway workers were killed when a roadside bomb exploded in Herat province, western Afghanistan.
The governor of Herat province, Syed Abdul Wahed Qatali, said – in a statement published today, that the bomb targeted a car carrying personnel of the “Khaf” railway in the Goryan region of the province.. The governor did not provide further details about the incident, and no group or party announced responsible for the explosion.
In another context, at least four people were wounded in an ambush by the Taliban against members of the security forces in Parwan province, northern Afghanistan.
Parwan provincial police chief Abdul Rauf Uruzjani said the incident took place in Shinwari district of the province, adding that the Taliban attacked vehicles used by members of the security forces.
He added that “two members of the security forces and civilians were wounded in the attack,” and that “two vehicles used by security forces were destroyed in the attack.”
