Biden accuses Republican Party of assaulting right to vote

SANAA, May 30 (YPA) – US President Joe Biden accused Republicans of assaulting the right to vote and democracy in Texas.

According to the agency “Agence France Presse”, on Sunday, the accusations of the US President came against the backdrop of a bill that is about to be officially adopted by Republican representatives in Texas to make the elections safer.

A statement by the Democratic president said that Texas is now joining the Republican-dominated states of Georgia and Florida “by attacking the sacred right to vote.”

After the final draft of the bill began circulating in the Texas legislature, Biden said: “This is part of an assault on democracy that we’ve seen so much this year.”

He pointed out that the bill deprives black Americans and other minorities of equal opportunities.
