Hezbollah congratulates Assad on his re-election as president of Syria

SANAA, May 29 (YPA) –  Lebanese Hezbollah on Friday sent a message to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, after winning a fourth presidential term.

Hezbollah said in a statement, according to Al-Manar channel: “The Syrians have reiterated through the ballot boxes, after they have repeatedly proven through redemption, sacrifices and firm positions, their full commitment to national unity and their rejection of discrimination, sectarianism and division, stressing their adherence to the political option that Syria has pursued, Throughout its modern history, it has been fully committed to the Palestinian cause, confronting occupation and aggression, and rejecting blasphemy, betrayal and terrorism.

Hezbollah continued in its statement: “We hope that the coming years will represent a great opportunity for Syria to return to playing its natural and vanguard role in the Arab world and at the international level, that all the Syrian people’s hopes for prosperity and prosperity will be fulfilled, and that the great efforts for reconstruction and the return of the displaced will be crowned. This march will be complemented by the liberation of the rest of the areas under occupation and terrorism.

Hezbollah indicated that it extends “its warmest congratulations and sincerest blessings from President Dr. Bashar al-Assad and the brotherly Syrian people for his re-election as President of the Syrian Arab Republic for a new constitutional term, after a major electoral process that was like a large-scale popular and political referendum, which was expressed by the massive and unpopular turnout.” The precedent on the ballot boxes and in the demonstrations that swept the country before, during and after the electoral process, which turned into a major national wedding throughout the Syrian territories liberated from the clutches of occupation and terrorism,” according to the statement.
