SANAA, May 23 (YPA) – One of war prisoners died after being tortured in one of jails that run by the Islah Party militants in the city of Marib, according to the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs.
The committee in a statement condemned the crime of torturing committed by the Islah militants against the prisoner Kahlan Abdul Hakim Hassan Al-Romaim, until he passed away.
The committee added, “During the implementation of an exchange deal with Saudi-led coalition’s mercenaries two weeks ago, the committee was surprised to deliver the aforementioned body bearing signs of torture, after examining the body by the forensic doctor.”
The statement held the leadership of the coalition and its tools in Marib full responsible for torture and committing crimes against the prisoners.
The committee emphasized that the recurrence of these crimes against the prisoners is a result of the United Nations’ silence and its organizations operating in Yemen.
It also called on all local and international organizations to condemn these crimes and their perpetrators and to prosecute them legally.
