Coalition continues to detain 5 fuel ships: YPC

SANAA, May 09 (YPA) – The Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC) announced on Sunday that the Saudi-led coalition forces are still holding five fuel ships, including a ship loaded with diesel fuel (mazut).

The company said, in a statement, that the coalition continues to detain four oil ships loaded with a total of 116,236 tons of petrol and diesel for varying periods, some of reached five months (160 days), which is unprecedented maritime piracy on oil ships.

The statement indicated that all the detained ships had completed UNVIM procedures in Djibouti, and had obtained permits from the United Nations.

The company indicated that this continuing criminal piracy and its disastrous repercussions have not been matched by any serious and concrete action from the United Nations, as it is the international body concerned with facilitating the entry of imports of basic commodities.
