SANAA, April 29 (YPA) – Iran commented on the recent statements of the Saudi Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS), about relations between the two parties.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Saeed Khatibzadeh, said that Iran and Saudi Arabia are “important countries in the region and the Islamic world,” considering that “they can start a new chapter of cooperation and joint action to bring about peace through constructive dialogue.
Khatibzadeh continued, “Iran represents the leading country in regional cooperation by presenting initiatives and plans for dialogue and cooperation in the Gulf region, including the peace initiative in the Strait of Hormuz, welcoming the change of tone of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia towards Iran.”
“We hope that the holy month of Ramadan will be a blessed beginning for the rapprochement between the countries of the Islamic world and the elimination of wars and disruption of security in the region,” he added.
