SANAA, April 29 (YPA) – Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC) said the US-backed Saudi-led aggression coalition has seized a new ship carrying 23,960 tons of gasoline.
Issam al-Mutawakil, spokesman for the company, told The Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the Tango, which was prevented from reaching the port of Hodeidah despite being inspected and obtained UN entry permits, carried diesel for the electricity sector.
He explained out that the six ships laden with oil derivatives detained by the coalition forces including one loaded with gasoline and five ships loaded with (128,035) tons of gasoline and diesel for varying periods.
Since the beginning of this year, no oil derivatives vessel has been allowed to enter the port of Hodeidah except for one diesel ship for public consumption, accounting for 6.5 percent of the actual need, he said.
He held the Saudi-led aggression as well as the United Nations, which provides cover for it, responsible for the consequences of the continuation of these arbitrary practices, which doubled the suffering of the Yemeni people.
