SANAA, April 27 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia confirmed Tuesday that its largest oil export port on the Red Sea coast has been attacked by sea.
The ministry said in a statement that the attack was carried out by sea boat, noting that investigations are continuing to find out the details of the attack.
An international shipping company revealed that the port of Yanbu, the main Saudi oil export port, was attacked without disclosing details.
The company explained that the attack damaged an oil ship and the port, but Reuters quoted the Saudi National Shipping Company as saying that the ship was not affiliated with it.
The attack comes at a time when Saudi Arabia is trying to approach with Iran, which could bear international imprints as regional and Western parties try to curb Saudi-Iranian rapprochement, led by Israel, which has recently stepped up attacks on Iranian ships and is at war at sea.
