Two battalions defect from coalition forces in Marib

MARIB, April 27 (YPA) – Two military battalions in Marib province on Monday announced their defection from coalition forces and joined the Yemeni army forces.

Sources told Yemen Press News Agency that two military battalions, from the “125th Infantry Brigade”, announced the defection from fighting among coalition forces west of Marib city and joining the National Salvation Government forces .

The sources quoted the Major General Nasser al-Thaybani, commander of joint military operations in the Ministry of Defense of the Hadi Government, as saying that the battalions handed over their military positions with full military equipment to the army forces.

According to information from the sources, Maj. Gen. Abdullah Yahya al-Hakim, head of the intelligence and reconnaissance body received the battalion recruits who announced their return to the ranks of the homeland.
