4 Islah militants killed, 2 injured in armed attack in Abyan
SANAA, April 17 (YPA) – At least four of Islah Party militants loyal to the Saudi-led coalition were killed and two injured on Saturday in a surprise attack launched by the so-called “Southern Resistance” in Abyan province, in southern Yemen.
The Southern Resistance elements loyal to the Southern Transitional Council (STC) launched their attack on Islah’s military post with various types of light and medium weapons, amid an exchange of fire, the sources told Yemen Press Agency.
The sources added that three of the attackers were wounded by members of the military point, which is supervised by Abyan’s Security Director Abu Masha’al Al-Kazemi.
On the other hand, the Islah party has pushed military reinforcements over the past hours towards Ahwar, in escalating steps on the coastal road.
Islah militia leaders justified sending military reinforcements to secure the movement of travelers and curbing intermittency, banditry and looting carried out by the STC loyalists in the area.
