UAE forces close office of sheikh in Socotra

SOCOTRA, April 12 (YPA) – The UAE forces closed on Monday an office of sheikh by force in occupied Socotra island, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.

The sources confirmed that the UAE-backed southern transitional council militias attacked sheikh Yaqut office and closed the office by force of arms, unlawfully.

All sheikhs of the island denounced the militias attack, considering it a disgraceful act that violates all tribal customs, traditions and norms.

In a statement, sheikhs of Socotra expressed their categorical rejection of all acts carried out by UAE-backed militias.

The statement also considered that the blatant attack targets all the sheikhs and threatens security, peace and social stability on the island.
