Several Hadi militants killed in ambushes in Abyan

ABYAN, April 12 (YPA) – A number of the exiled Hadi forces and Islah militants were killed and wounded on Sunday in ambushes in Abyan province, south of Yemen.

According to sources, a spokesman for the so-called Abyan axis of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), Mohammed al-Naqib, said on Twitter: “The Security Belt Forces and the tribesmen foils an attack launched by the Muslim Brotherhood’s militia in the Khobar Al-Maraqasha area.”

The Security Belt Forces, backed by tribesmen were able to carry out a number of ambushes and raids against the Islah militants, achieving great losses in the enemy’s reinforcements and its hostile movements, he added.

Earlier in the day, the great military reinforcements, including armored vehicles and missile trucks, and ammunition passed from the streets of Ataq city, the capital of Shabwa, towards the coastal city of Shakra in ABayn, in addition to medium and heavy weapons, and anti-aircraft guns.

This comes after Islah took control of the strategic Ahwar area last week, and deployed its militants along the coastal road in Abayn to Shabwa.
