ADEN, April 10 (YPA) – UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militais revealed on Saturday a military escalation would be carried out by the Saudi-backed Islah militants in Aden, south of Yemen.
The STC called on its forces to confront the Islah militants that aimed at imposing a new reality in a number of southern provinces.
It explained that the terrorist forces moved to control the coasts of the Arabian Sea, in particular, to explode the military situation in the province of Abyan and Lahj, by escalating the continuous attacks against the elements of the security belt of the STC in the districts of Ahwar and Khanfar in Abyan.
In its periodic meeting, held on Saturday, the STC indicated that Islah had tended to mobilize the military at Tor al-Baha front in Lahj, with the aim of implementing a suspicious agenda within the plan to storm the city of Aden.
The STC called on all its military units to combat readiness to face the challenges of Islah militants, indicating that all options for confrontations are open.
It demanded monitoring Islah’s movements, suspicious gatherings, smuggling and transferring weapons to the city of Aden.
