Egypt records 39 deaths, 710 new cases of Corona

SANAA, April 4 (YPA) – The Egyptian Ministry of Health announced the registration of 39 deaths and 710 new infections with the Corona virus, in the last 24 hours.

Ministry spokesman Khaled Mujahid said in a statement that the total number of deaths due to the virus in the country reached 12,123, while the total number of infections reached 204,256.

The previous day, Egypt had recorded 43 deaths and 703 cases of the virus.

On March 31, the Egyptian Minister of Health, Hala Zayed, announced that it had received 854,400 doses of the “AstraZeneca” anti-corona virus vaccine, at Cairo Airport.

This batch of vaccines is the largest to reach Egypt and the Middle East from the GAVI International Alliance for Serums and Vaccines.

This batch arrived within the “Kovacs” agreement in cooperation with GAVI, the World Health Organization, the “UNICEF” and the World Bank.

Thus, about one million and 600 thousand vaccine doses have reached Egypt, between the Chinese “Sinopharm” and the British-Swedish “AstraZeneca”.
