UAE-backed militias threaten abductees to rape their family members in order to make confessions

ADEN, April 03 (YPA) – The UAE-backed militia transferred 21 abductees from the Basateen Police Station prison to Bir Ahmed prison, seven months after they were kidnapped in the southern Yemeni city of Aden.

 

According to human rights sources in the city, the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia kidnapped citizens from Taiz province who were working in selling “qat” in the market of the city of Enma, because they refused to pay the taxes .

 

The sources confirmed that the “STC” threatened the families of the abductees to force them to make confessions that they are  cells belonging to the National Salvation  government in Sanaa.

 

The sources said that the kidnappers were tortured and forced at gunpoint on untrue confessions that they were cells belonging to what they called “Houthis”, according to al-Mahriya Net.

 

The sources pointed out that the STC militia “threatened the abductees to rape their family members, as part of the psychological and physical repression, indicating that among the abductees children as young as 16 and 15 years.

 

Dozens of abductees and forcibly disappeared in the UAE-Run Bir Ahmed prison are subjected to torture and sexual assault, causing dozens of prisoners to repeatedly decide to go on hunger strike to protest ill-treatment.
