Pakistani army announces successfully test-fired Shaheen 1-A ballistic missile

SANAA, March 27 (YPA) – The Pakistani army announced on Friday it conducted a successful flight test with the Shaheen 1-A surface-to-surface ballistic missile.
The army affirmed that the test flight on Friday was aimed at re-verifying the various designs and technical parameters of weapons systems, including the advanced navigation system, noting that the missile has a range of 900 kilometres.

Pakistani President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and the country’s military leadership congratulated the scientists and engineers on making the missile launch successfully.

The army successfully fired in the last month Babur cruise missile IA-a short-range surface-to-surface ballistic missile capable of hitting its land and sea targets accurately to 450km away.

Tension broke out between Pakistan and India led to an arms race after the Indian government has canceled Article 370 of the constitution, which guarantees autonomy in the Muslim-majority Jammu and Kashmir, on August 5, 2019.
