YPC denies arrival of any fuel ship at Hodeida port

SANAA, March 24 (YPA) – The Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC) denied on Wednesday the arrival of any fuel ship at Hodeida port so far.

“Our information says that four oil vessels, none of which have yet arrived, will be allowed to enter, and it is strange that three of them belong to the private sector factories and only one is for the public sector,” said Essam Al-Mutawakel, official spokesman for the company.

Al-Mutawakel explained that what is being promoted by the Saudi-led coalition forces’ media on releasing the fuel ships “are just rumors”, indicating that when any ship arrives, it will be officially announced by the company.

Such allegations aimed at misleading public opinion and covering up the coalition’s crimes and the maritime piracy it practices through the detention of ships of oil derivatives, he added.

The spokesman confirmed that the detention of fuel vessels contradicts the International Resolution 2216 and the Sweden agreement, pointing out that Yemen is in a catastrophic situation and most sectors operate with half of their capacity due to the lack of fuel.

Al-Mutawakel expressed Sanaa’s refusal to barter the oil derivatives file and the humanitarian file in general for any military or political files.
