Hamas: Serious deterioration on the health of “Al-Khodri” detained in Saudi Arabia

SANAA, March 24 (YPA) – The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said that the health of its former representative in Saudi Arabia, Mohammed al-Khodri, who has been detained there since 2019, has deteriorated significantly.

The movement’s spokesman Hazem Qasem said al-Khodri, 83, is suffering from difficult health conditions in Saudi prisons and has entered the dangerous phase.

” He is  suffering  from chronic diseases, he is old, and living conditions inside prisons have worsened his health,” he told Anadolu Agency.

Al-Khodri is being held without charge, without committing any crime, Qasem said, calling on the Saudi authorities to immediately release Al-Khodri and all detainees.

Amnesty International recently revealed a deterioration in Al-Khodri’s health, lack of full medical care and poor conditions of detention.

Al-Khodri did not have access to his lawyer for a long time, as well as violations of the legal requirements of the trial, which he and his son, Dr. Hani, said.

Al-Khodri has been detained since 2019, along with dozens of Palestinians in Saudi Arabia, and more than a year later has been transferred to court on charges of “terrorism”, he said, adding that he is Hamas’ official representative to the Saudi authorities.
