SANAA, March 20 (YPA) – Syria’s Foreign Minister, Faisal Al-Miqdad arrived on Saturday in the Sultanate of Oman, in his first visit to a Gulf country, after assuming his position to succeed the late Minister Walid Al-Moallem.
The Syrian official TV announced that Al-Miqdad and his accompanying delegation arrived at the airport in the Omani capital, Muscat, in a three-day visit.
Oman is the first Arab and Gulf country that returns its ambassador to Damascus, last October, after it had reduced its representation in Syria in 2012 following the crisis that erupted in the country.
The Minister’s first foreign visit led him to Tehran on December 7, where he met with senior Iranian officials. On the 7th of the same month was his second foreign visit to Moscow.
