STC militias close National Cement factory in Lahj

LAHJ, March 18 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias has closed the National Cement Factory in Lahj province, southern Yemen, local sources said on Thursday .

According to the sources, three military vehicles belonging to “STC” besieged the cement factory, in the area of al-Mallah in the Directorate of  Radfan, and closed it, without giving any reasons.

The militia prevented entry and exit from the factory, one of the sources said.

The factory administration is receiving pressure from the leaders of the “STC” militia to pay millions of riyals in additional taxes, to the amounts that are reported monthly to the treasury of the local authority in the province, the sources added.
