Operations chief of coalition forces in Marib injured

MARIB, March 18 (YPA) – A senior military commander loyal to the Saudi-led coalition was wounded in the battles taking place north of Marib city, local sources reported on Thursday.

The sources said that Brigadier General Nasser Al-Thibani, chief of the military operations of “Hadi government” forces, was wounded on Wednesday as a result of the failed attempt by the coalition forces to retake the strategic area of ‘Malbuda’.

The sources explained that Al-DTibani was hit by shrapnel of a 120-caliber artillery shell while the artillery of Sanaa forces was bombing the coalition forces on the outskirts of Malbuda front.

Sanaa forces were able two days ago to liberate Malbuda front and advance towards “Iydat Al-Ra’a” camp.
