Update: Death toll from attack on STC military point in Abyan reaches 14

ABYAN, March 18 (YPA) – The toll of death from an attack on a military post of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias on Thursday in Abyan province has risen to 14.

Local sources in the province explained that gunmen, believed to be affiliated with Al-Qaeda, attacked a military post of the “security belt force” in ‘Al-Majamea’ area east of Ahwar district, leaving 14 dead, including six civilians.

The sources added that two of the security belt members were slaughtered by the attackers, while the fate of four elements is still unknown, and it is likely that they were kidnapped.

The armed elements carried out firing executions against civilian travelers in the same area, and the bodies were left dumped on the asphalt road, and It is not yet known who was behind the attack, according to the sources.
