Moscow responds to Washington’s accusations of “meddling” in elections

SANAA, March 17 (YPA) – The Russian Embassy in Washington said that US intelligence accusations of “meddling” into the US presidential election are baseless.

“The document prepared by the US intelligence community is another set of groundless accusations against our country of interfering in American internal political processes,” the Embassy’s statement said.

“The conclusions of the report on Russia conducting influence operations in America are confirmed solely by the confidence of the intelligence services of their self-righteousness. No facts or specific evidence of such claims were provided,” it added

Russian diplomats stressed that the recent accusations from the Us side do not contribute to the normalization of bilateral relations, nor do they correspond to the “equal dialogue of experts and mutual respect proposed by Russia to find solutions to pressing issues.

In the declassified US intelligence report on Tuesday, Russia was accused of “trying to thwart Joe Biden’s victory and helping Donald Trump re-elect” as well as “sowing discord” in American society.
