Israel accused of being behind attack on Iranian ship

SANAA, March 14 (YPA) – Israel is likely behind last week’s attack in the Mediterranean that damaged an Iranian container ship, an Iranian investigator said on Saturday.

“Given the geographical location and the way the ship was targeted, one strong possibility is that this terrorist operation was carried out by the Zionist regime (Israel),” thethe semi-official news agency ISNA quoted an unnamed member of the Iranian team investigating the incident as saying.

For his part, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz declined to comment directly on the incident, but said that Iran regularly sends weapons to its agents in the region by sea, air and land, operations that Israel must prevent.

“We’re frustrated with the supply of weapons and other things related to the development of military operations and capabilities by air, sea and land,” Gantz said at an online seminar hosted by his white blue party.
