UAE takes over Socotra’s crop of lobsters

SOCOTRA, March 11 (YPA) – Disputes erupted on Thursday between Yemeni fishermen and representative of the UAE occupation, Khalfan Al-Mazrouei, on the occupied Socotra Island.

Local sources on the island confirmed that Al-Mazrouei had refused to pay fishermen dues from the value of fish since the beginning of the establishment of the UAE “Prime” factory for fish canning on the island.

According to the sources, the UAE is forcing fishermen to hand over fish to the Prime factory, which in turn carries out packaging and exports to Abu Dhabi.

They explained that the Emirati representative limited the full acquisition of the lobsters crop and delivering it to the factory of the UAE.
