9 Takfiri militants killed by army fire in Somalia
SANAA, Mar. 1 (YPA) – Nine Takfiri elements of the “Al-Shabaab Movement” were killed by the Somali army’s fire during an attack launched by the movement on the Qansahteri area in Bay Governorate, south of the country.
According to the “Russia Today” website, Muhammad Mukhtar Abdi, Deputy Head of
Kansahiri Region for Security Affairs, said in a statement, “The extremist youth militia suffered heavy losses, as nine of them were killed, 12 wounded, and others arrested.”
Ahmed Abdullah Arif, head of the “Yaqshid” directorate in Somalia, was exposed, on Sunday morning, to a failed assassination attempt by detonating a landmine remotely when his car passed by the “Dar al-Salam” area in the capital, Mogadishu.
The local media sources did not report any casualties during the explosion, while it was confirmed that the targeted official survived the ambush.
