43 militants loyal to Islah killed in Shabwah
SHABWAH, Feb. 23 (YPA) – More than 70 militants were killed and wounded on Monday in an attack on military reinforcements belonging to Islah militants in Shabwah province, southern Yemen, local reports said.
According to the local sources, the gunmen of the tribesmen of Nisab loyal to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) ‘s militia set up an armed ambush targeted the military reinforcements coming from Aden and Abyan, which were moving towards Marib.
The hospital in the city of Ataq, the capital of Shabwah, received 43 dead, approximately 35 wounded of Islah militants, and a number of military vehicles were destroyed, the sources added.
The sources pointed out that the ambush targeted the reinforcements as they passed through the asphalt line linking the districts of Nisab and Bayhan.
