Saudi-led coalition forces continue to suffer heavy casualties in Marib

MARIB, Feb. 19 (YPA) – Saudi-led coalition forces on Friday continued to suffer heavy casualties during fighting around Marib city, local sources said.

According to the local sources, the Yemeni army and committees fought fierce battles against coalition forces in the past hours and managed to set up large ambushes targeting military brigades between the District of Sirwah and Marib city.

The sources said that Sanaa forces were able to ambush infiltration attempt carried by  forces  of “163rd Brigade” loyal to  coalition  towards the army’s locations on the outskirts of Jabal al-Mashajah.

The sources confirmed that many members of the besieged brigade were killed and wounded.

The sources revealed that the soldiers of the coalition’s “312nd Armored Brigade” refused to advance towards the site where their colleagues were besieged, fearing that they would fall into ambushes by Sanaa forces.
