Islah militants impose royalties on Shabwa merchants

SHABWA, Feb. 17 (YPA) – The local authorities of Islah Party in Shabwa province have imposed monetary royalties on owner of shops in Ataq city, the capital of the governorate.

According to sources, the city’s works office of Islah authorities imposed the sums estimated at 10-20 thousand Yemeni riyals to restaurants and small shops, without any legal justification.
The works office imposed royalties by force, and whoever refused to pay the sums would be detained, the sources said.
