Al Jazeera Reporter: Sanaa forces are only 20km away from the compound of Marib

MARIB, Feb. 16 (YPA) – Al-Jazeera’s correspondent in Yemen, Ahmed Al-Shalfi, on Tuesday published a map of the clashes raging at the entrances to Marib city, revealing how far away the Yemeni army and popular committees are from the city.

The clashes are taking place 20km from Marib airport in the center of the city, he said.

The fighting is only 24km(24 miles) from camp Kawfal,  which has been controlled by the army and committees on the Western Front and the government compound in the centre of the city.

The Yemeni forces have been fighting fierce battles for days as part of the battle for control of Marib amid expectations that the city will fall within days.
