SANAA, Feb. 15 (YPA) – Iraqi Airways flights have resumed this week between the two countries with health protocols and there is no reason to license flights to Iraq, spokesperson for Civil Aviation Organization of Iran Mohammad-Hassan Zibakhsh announced .
“Following the outbreak of the Corona virus, travel restrictions have been imposed on some flight routes, including flights from Iran to Iraq,” Zibakhsh said in a statement Sunday.
“In light of the consensus between the two countries, it has been decided to resume Iraqi airways flights on the Tehran-Najaf-Tehran and Mashhad-Mashhad routes from this week and there are currently no restrictions on the issuance of licenses to Iranian airlines,” he added.
Asked about the possibility of air travel for ordinary passengers, he said : “It has been decided to resume flights of Iraqi airlines to Iran and Iranian airlines can also obtain the necessary licenses to operate flights on these routes.”
He indicated that there were currently two flights from Tehran and two flights from Mashhad to Najaf and Baghdad, and that the dispatch of the passengers required Iraq’s approval.
