European Parliament resolution calls for withdrawal of all foreign troops from Yemen

SANAA, Feb. 11 (YPA) -The European Parliament has adopted a resolution calling for the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Yemen to facilitate political dialogue between the parties to the conflict.

The draft resolution emphasized that the crisis should be resolved only through Yemeni-led negotiations involving all components of the people.

It stated its support for all the efforts of the United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen to advance the political process.

The European resolution condemned the violence in the country since 2015, which caused the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.

The resolution called on the European Union to take firm action against the UN Security Council’s referral of the situation in Yemen to the International Criminal Court and to expand the list of persons subject to Security Council sanctions.
