Dozens of coalition recruits killed, injured in Marib battles

MAIRB, Feb. 11 (YPA) – Dozens of Saudi-led coalition recruits were killed and wounded on Thursday, during the clashes taking place on the western outskirts of Marib city, local sources reported.

The Yemeni army forces and the popular committees launched a major military offensive at dawn today towards ‘Al-Kasara’ area, which is still witnessing fierce battles with all types of weapons, the sources explained.

The clashes resulted in the death and injury of 97 troops of the coalition forces, including senior military leaders, most notably Awad bin Salem bin Mohammed Al-Aqeli and Salim Al-Tayeb, the sources added.

The sources revealed that missile and artillery bombing targeted military reinforcements of the coalition forces in “Nakhla” area, which resulted in 63 dead and wounded, including military leaders.
