Two Turkish soldiers killed, 4 wounded in clash with Kurdish militants in northern Iraq

SANAA, Feb. 11 (YPA) – Two soldiers were killed and four others injured Thursday after clashes with PKK elements broke out in the Karah region of northern Iraq, the Turkish Defence Ministry said on Thursday.

As a result of the clashes in the “Eagle’s Paw 2” area, where the Turkish army is carrying out a military operation inside Iraqi territory, two soldiers were killed and four wounded, the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry indicated the wounded were taken to hospital, noting that specific targets in the area were bombed with airstrikes.

The PKK, which Ankara classifies as a terrorist, has suffered heavy losses, the statement added.
