ABU DHABI, Feb. 10 (YPA) – The UAE announced on Wednesday the dismissal of the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash from his post, and the appointment of Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan as his successor.
Gargash has held the position of Minister of State for Foreign Affairs since February 2008, and is known for his controversial statements, especially regarding normalization with Israel.
Shakhbout bin Nahyan, son of the Minister of Tolerance Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, has been serving as Abu Dhabi’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia since July 2017.
On the other hand, Anwar Gargash, known for his activities on social media and his many tweets on Twitter, did not comment on his dismissal from his post and his new appointment.
