Local official killed in Abyan

ABYAN, Feb. 6 (YPA) – A local electricity official was killed on  Friday  by the UAE-backed “Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s ” militias in Abyan province, southern Yemen, local sources reported.

Local sources indicated that the official was killed during the clashes that broke out between the elements of the STC in Dawvas point as a result of differences  over financial royalties collected from the point.

The sources confirmed that the clashes led to the death of the head of the maintenance department in Abyan Electricity, Mamdouh Ali Baba, in front of al-Aqel station in Khanfar district

Dawvas point is the first major gate from Abyan province, towards the city of Aden, which has been controlled by the Southern Transitional militias since August 2019.
