4 foreign military ships arrive at Yemen’s Mayon Island

SANAA, Feb. 04 (YPA) – Four foreign military ships docked at the coast of Mayon Island, the most important Yemeni island in the middle of Bab Al-Mandab strait, and began landing ammunition forces whose affiliation was not known until now, local sources said on Thursday.

In the same context, southern journalist Adel Al-Hasani confirmed the arrival of four military ships belonging to the Saudi-Emirati coalition that landed forces on Mayon Island in Bab al-Mandab.

Since the beginning of the war on Yemen, the island has hosted a military base of the UAE which has a diverse missile defense system.

The Bab al-Mandab region, the second most important strait in the world, has recently witnessed more military build-ups, which indicates to the creation of a new base near the western coast of Yemen.
