Gunmen kidnap seven displaced people in Aden

ADEN, Feb. 2 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias abducted seven displaced persons from the refugee shelter in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden, human rights sources reported on Tuesday.

According to human rights sources in the city, forces of the 4th Brigade loyal to the STC raided the displaced persons’ camp in Jawlat Alkoura’a area and fired a barrage of bullets indiscriminately that caused terror among children and women.

The sources said the militants kidnapped the camp supervisor and six other displaced persons, without any legal justifications.

The sources said that the “STC” elements took the displaced people on a military vehicle and put them in a prison at Allahum camp, without knowing the reasons.

The abduction of displaced persons from inside al-Kura’ar camp was widely condemned by the city’s human rights activists , describing these measures as barbaric and blatant interference in police affairs in a case where they have committed any crime.
