ADEN, Feb. 02 (YPA) – A major fire broke out in a popular market, near ‘Maasheeq Palace’, the residence of “Hadi government” in the port city of Aden, southern Yemen, local sources reported on Tuesday.
The fire that erupted on Monday night destroyed many shops in a popular market in the Crater district, causing heavy losses of citizens’ properties, and a state of terror among dozens of families living in apartments in the middle of the market, the sources explained.
The sources added that the fire lasted for many hours as a result of the failure of the firefighting teams to control and extinguish it.
The sources suggested that the fire was deliberate and was not an accident, especially in light of the escalating chaos in the city of Aden after the return of the “Hadi government” last month.
