UAE military moves plan to target Marib city

MARIB, Jan. 29 (YPA) – Dangerous military and tribal movements were planed during the past two ago to target the city of Marib, private sources familiar with the matter on Friday.

The sources affirmed that the tribal and military leaders backed by the UAE, in coordination with a number of tribal sheikhs opposing Islah Party in the city of Marib, threaten security chaos in the city.

The source pointed out that these leaders are seeking to confuse the security situation in the city, with Islah’s continued acquisition of the governorate’s financial revenues to the party.

The source noted that the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Defense of “Hadi”, the leader Saghir bin Aziz, has stood behind those political and military moves in coordination with the tribes.

The source attributed pro-UAE military leaders in Marib have been planning for control over the city of Marib, which contains the oil and gas facilities in Safer, in order to enable them to export gas to the UAE-held port of Balhaf in Shabwa province.
