SANAA, Jan. 29 (YPA) – Executive Director of the Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC), Eng. Ammar Al-Adhra’i, met on Thursday with the World Food Program (WFP) Representative and Country Director in Yemen, Laurent Bukera.
The meeting discussed the humanitarian conditions experienced by the Yemeni people as a result of the continued detention of oil derivative ships by the Saudi-led aggression coalition countries.
The company’s executive director indicated that the continued detention of oil derivative ships hinders the transportation and delivery of medicines and food to citizens.
The continued piracy against fuel ships would lead to a humanitarian catastrophe, as many service and vital sectors stop providing their services, Al-Adhra’I added.
For his part, the WFP representative confirmed his willingness to coordinate to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and to work for the release of fuel ships.
