Israel plans to build 2,500 settlements in West Bank

SANAA, May 25 (YPA) – Israel Defence Ministry would request approval from a planning committee for the construction of 2,500 new housing units in settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory of the West Bank, Israeli Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman said in a statement on Thursday.

Lieberman said the new 2,500 settlement units that we will approve in the Planning Committee next week relate to the immediate construction in 2018.

Lieberman added that he would also seek the committee’s approval for a further 1,400 settlement units for later construction.
